Welcome to the Leicester University Law Society!

My name is Purba Audhora and I am honoured to be your President for the 2025/26 academic year. Our committee has put together a fantastic programme of events to support your professional growth and make your time at Leicester truly memorable.

Over the past two years I have made the most of everything LULS offers, from workshops and socials to winning mooting and client interviewing competitions. In my second year I served as Solicitors' Representative, mentoring students and creating opportunities for aspiring solicitors. These experiences showed me the real value of LULS in helping students build confidence, develop practical skills, and connect with like-minded peers. They also inspired me to run for President so every member can enjoy the same opportunities.

As a LULS member, you can take part in a wide range of competitions, including mooting, negotiation, client interviewing, mock trials, commercial awareness, and our new mediation competition. Many are sponsored by leading chambers and top firms, including those in the Magic and Silver Circle, and offer prizes such as work experience placements and mini pupillages.

We also offer opportunities such as our careers mentoring scheme, sports teams, and the LULS Law Gazette. At the same time, we believe enjoying university life together is just as important. Our socials, including the welcome meet and greet, quiz and games nights, and the annual Law Ball, are a great way to relax and meet new people.

Alongside competitions, we run workshops to strengthen key skills such as commercial awareness, applications, and interview preparation. Our networking events give you the chance to learn directly from experienced professionals and build meaningful connections. A highlight this year is our new Winter Careers Dinner, proudly sponsored by A&O Shearman, Baker McKenzie, and Osborne Clarke, giving members a unique chance to engage with leading firms in a personal setting.

I’m really excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to welcome both new and returning members. Dive in, get involved, and make the most of every opportunity. I'm looking forward to seeing you all at events throughout the year!
