What We Offer
-
We run both a football team and a netball team that welcome members of all abilities and experience levels. Whether you’re a complete beginner, returning to the sport after a break, or an experienced player, you’ll find a supportive environment focused on enjoyment, development and teamwork.
-
Regular weekly training sessions are held for each team, led by experienced captains .
Sessions balance skill development, fitness and match practice, with drills adaptable to different ability levels so everyone can progress at their own pace.
Training aims to be inclusive and social, encouraging teamwork, fair play and respect.
-
Members can also choose to represent the Society in external competitions across the UK.
We enter regional leagues and university tournaments, offering a pathway for more competitive players to gain match experience.
Selection for fixtures is based on availability and commitment, with opportunities for players from any ability level to take part.
-
New members are welcomed regardless of prior experience; we provide guidance, equipment advice and a friendly team atmosphere.
Social events and mixed training sessions help integrate members and build team spirit.
Accessibility considerations and flexible participation options are offered where possible to ensure everyone can get involved.
-
All students are invited to try a session before committing, so you can see where you fit best.
Whether you want regular training, occasional social matches, or the chance to compete at a higher level, our football and netball teams provide options for everyone.

Words from the Captains
Ben
“I’m Ben, a fourth-year Law student and will be taking on the role of Law Football Captain for the upcoming academic year. Having just returned from a year abroad in Australia, I’m really excited to get back involved with the Law Football team and lead the team this year.
I’m looking forward to creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment where everyone can get involved, meet new people and enjoy playing football alongside their studies. I’m also particularly excited to introduce new students to some of the best events that Law has to offer, including Varsity, Old Boys Weekend and everything in between.
I’ve loved being part of the Law Football community and I’m super excited for the year ahead. Hopefully we can have a successful season both on and off the pitch, and make it a year to remember for the team!”
